FEBRUARY - BLACK HISTORY MONTH

In 1976 as part of the United States Bicentennial, the informal expansion of Negro History Week to Black History Month was officially recognized by the United States government. President Gerald Ford spoke in regards to this, urging Americans to "seize the opportunity to honor the too-often neglected accomplishments of black Americans in every area of endeavor throughout our history."

THANKS FOR SUPPORTING WEST SIDE!

Welcome to West Side
Elementary School

Mr. Donlon

Dear West Side families,

Thank You for visiting our website. We are so proud of our students and teachers here at West Side Elementary!

We “Reach and Teach, Whatever it Takes,” for our students. Our teachers work very hard to plan, implement, and monitor daily lesson plans. We teach, assess, and take time to celebrate our successes.

Our student body is very diverse and we find that this understanding of culture builds character and responsible citizens of our community. The staff and students at West Side are very compassionate people; we love to give back to our community by raising funds for charity, organizing evening activities to help families and provide learning opportunities.

If you have questions about us, or want to help or volunteer in any way please contact me, Gerard Donlon at gdonlon@concord.k12.in.us.
